My father-in-law was in the Pacific Theater during WWII and brought back two Katanas, one of which he gave me. It has a leather officer's scabard with a bullet crease in it (the one that didn't get him) and an inscription inside the handle. It's 60 or 70 years old and is still sharper than any knife I've ever seen.
