Lets say you're driving down the street (or the freeway) and your lane is the "turn only" lane. Lets further assume you are there because you plan to turn in the indicated direction and NOT the opposite way.

Do you signal anyway?

When in doubt - whip it out!

Now what was the question?

Oh, yeah...if you have to ask, just do it. Such an omission could cost you in terms of contributory negligence if there was an accident.

Yes..........

I do it out of habit, and also as a courtesy to other drivers; showing them that I know where I am going, and that I am not in that lane mistakenly.

Agreeing with John.....very irritating. LMAO!!

But to answer the question, I do it just out of habit. I'm so scatterbrained sometimes that I catch myself turning on my turn signal around corners on a winding road. I always make sure to remind myself how dumb I am. 🙂

lol with Jezter - only because I once myself hitting the turn signal on twisting roads as well! Wondering how many times it may have happened where I didn't catch it.

OK. I will clarify... always use your turn signal when you are about ready to make a turn.

David... remember, I have also followed you.

ROTFLMAO @ JackStraw.

Do you live in Arkansas??? LOL

I use my turn signal, whenever turning off of the street I am on, regardless of wheather or not it is a turn only lane. For one thing it is the law, at least here in Arkansas, and another it is a saftey issue. Another thought, it could be used against me, If I don't use the blinker, and the were to be an accident.

I try to use my turn signal all the time, when making turns, even in designated lanes. But if I see someone in a turn lane and they don't have their signal on, it doesn't upset me... unless they don't turn.

Now... when changing lanes on the freeway, sometimes i'll use it and sometimes I won't. You see, in California that is an invitation to the guy behind you to speed up and see if he can block you from changing lanes...

Always use a signal. If I remember correctly, it's a law in Jersey to do so.

Yes, I always use my turn signal when I am turning, and when I am changing lanes. I even use it when I am pulling away from a curb.

Yes. Always. When turning, when changing lanes, when pulling from curb, in the turn only lane. Don't care about the law, just prefer that some idiot doesn't run over me. And, I wonder seriously about the mental capacity of those who don't. Why not, it's free, and it could keep some nut from killing you? What blows my mind is an idiot who makes three right turns with no signal, then uses a signal for a left turn????? Broadcasting what you are going to do can only improve your chances of getting there alive. Sorry for the length - pet peeve.

I always use mine to avoid the cop that is having a bad day and wants to screw with someone because they didn't use their turn signal.
