it never did hit us! We were on lock down for a day and it turned and went the other direction. We came out without a mark. The other one, that was not close to us, put out a whole lot more winds and rain. STRANGE weather in these parts.

Glad to hear you guys are OK. I was asking Ruggy the other day if he had heard from Chris. Are you living on a military base or are you in civilian housing?

We are on the military base. We live on the seventh floor in the towers. It is good so far, especially in typhoons. The power rarely goes out in them and no chance of flood. We can see the water from our balcony, the East China Sea. It is a bigger floor plan than the houses, oddly enough. We had to get used to it at first but it is growing on us. It is really strange to take an elevator to your "house". We are loving Okinawa. The people here are beautiful (in soul). They are very friendly and so eager to please. Very rarely is there anyone without a smile. The pace is slow and no one is in a hurry. It is refreshing to relax and be greeted with a smile. The people know more English than we do Japanese. It is amazing the effort taken to accomidate us. Beautiful, friendly... what an experience!
