I filmed this buck at the beginning of last season but didn't take a shot at him because he was only 2 1/2 years old and I knew he'd be a trophy in a couple of years if I let him walk. 2 months later we found his carcass where someone had poached him through our game fence on one side of the property. 11 pt. 17" inside spread. I was sick.494801.jpg

wow.... pisses you off doesnt it.

We are all members of QDMA. Quality Deer Management Assc.

Here is the link...

http://www.qdma.com/

They seem to fit what you guys are doing. Thin the doe herd.. and take class bucks.

Their slogan is "Let them go so they can grow"

We have several co-ops we've started here in ohio. My friends give seminars in order to get neighboring farmers to join and pratice QDM! Our state only wants to manage for numbers, and not quality. BOTH can be achieved with QDM.. and the end result is.. better bucks, and better hunts for the hunters. When a hunter is able to see more mature whitetails doing what they do... its a much more enjoyable experience for everyone.

Check out their website.. i think you will like it. They may even possibly have a branch set up in your area!

ps. Thats a hell of a 2 1/2 year old!! very nice!! The pics i topped for you we aged him at 3 1/2 to 4 1/2. My friend still thinks he's more on the 3 side! He was an amazing animal!

That is what happens when you put good genetics, good food, age.. and a LOW STRESS enviroment together!!
