Basic recipe. 2 # Ground beef, onions, chili powder, large can tomato juice, kidney beans, Durkee chili seasonings package.

Additions when the wife's not eating it:

Beer, green peppers, bacon chunks.

Not spicy, but very, very good.

Ok - basic recipe but I include:

-Three types of meats (ground / slices / chunks of beef/pork/lamb/veal/venison/etc).

-Three types of peppers (types depend on who I plan on sharing it with).

-1/3rd CAN, not bottle, of Guiness.

-Three tablespoons of honey.

-onions and spices

Served with a dollop of sour cream, shredded cheese and chives!

I start with fresh tomatos, skins removed, seeds intact, and go from there. To me, it makes a HUGE difference.

I also usually try to use stew meat as opposed to just ground, and at least two kinds of beans (usually kidney, black, and northern).

I have BIG cans of chili powder, cumin, dried garlic, & dried onion from Sams Club; I prefer dry spices because of the consistency.

Top it off with a couple fresh habaneros and yer good to go.
