Over the past year or so, I have noticed such a decrease in fast food quality that I've stopped using it.

You must've gotten the anus burger by mistake

I prefer to make my burgers at home... fresh ground beef, or sirloin, and cook it out back on the grill.

THAT is a burger.

i stopped eating fast food after reading fast food nation...not really because of anything the book said, but because I asked myself...why do I eat this garbage? I only have a short time here, I might as well make the best of it and at least get something that tastes better than this.

Every once in awhile I break down and head to McDonalds and regret it. In a pinch though Wendy's isn't bad

Fast food is such a competitive business nowadays. Chains have to maintain profitability without sacrificing quality. That's hard to do. That's why you're standing in longer lines at the local burger joint. Have you noticed that most Mc Donalds and Jack in the Box stores now only have one or two registers. There's no plan to be able to wait on more than 2 people at a time AND the drive thru.

A big ticket item like the Angus burger is a higher margin item. Just as easy and quick to make as a regular freeze dried burger, but it costs them a little more. They get you to buy the meal deal which is really just adding a soda and fries which have the highest margin.

Quality fast food does not exist any more. It's a shame. High fat, cholesterol, and poor health are exchanged for speed and low cost. Sure, you and the wife can eat for around $12, but spend $10 more and go to Dennys.

Or, build your own fast food joint. I know you got a BBQ. I sure do. Pork chops tonight !!!

I hear ya MACS, that is the real way to do it. But I always joke around with the wife saying we spent $6.00 for the lean beef, $1.50 for buns, then add on the price for lettuce, tomato, onion, etc...When we could have gone to Carl's Jr and got four 1/4lb burgers for $5.00

:o)

"$10 more and go to Dennys"

of the five worst meals I have ever had in my life...four of them were at a Denny's

I'm sorry, but fast food & quality cannot be placed in the same sentence!

Other than the infamous T-Bell 10-Taco Tray and an occasional Frosty from Wendy's, I refuse to eat the stuff.

We've got one of those 90 year old raggedy hamburger shacks nearby called "The Spot". They make those old fashioned hubcap burgers, with the onions grilled in, with nothing but mustard, pickles and onions. And of course a little good grease dripping off your chin. Heaven!

Since I retired from the department, I rarely eat fast food anymore, I used to live off of whoppers, fries and cokes... Haven't been to a BK in years

I agree with SteveR, as you can not put the two together (quality and fastfood)....It doesn't compute!

Charlie, it computes...but only to those that decide to sue the fast restaurant in the end because they didn't realize eating it every day would make them morbidly obese 🙂

I cant eat at BK...just cant. Plus I dont think short Australian guitar players would make for good hanburger meat anyway.

Other than occasional Taco Bell, I have backed off the fast food as well. Unles you consider Taqueria's fast food. For some reason I had a McDonalds craving the other day. Had rot gut for the rest of the afternoon. But damn those grease sticks tasted good at the time.

WOW,

A Lukin Sighting. LOL

I rarely eat fast food anymore. I don't have a lunch hour, so I don't need to hurry when I go out for lunch. Used to go down to the pub, for lunch, but lately I have been mixing it up with Helens Kitchen, a local lady that does plate Lunches, An Authentic mexican resturant, called "Don Papas", and the local chinese buffet.

man...

i think i did get the anus burger.

for the record, o love wendy's burgers. those are good. also tommy's (so cal) and fatburger.

and i have had and enjoyed the angus(and double angus) from carls. but this crappy samich from bk's just sucked. to make matters worse, i ORDERED the mushroom one and got some crap with sweat sauce on it. (i know someone out there ordered this thing and got a mushroom & swiss burger and got pissed-).

anyways, i guess i'll stick to the taco truck by my work from now on...
