Sitting here at my house today when the Thunderbirds came to town for the airshow this weekend. The airbase is just a short distance away. They were practicing this afternoon, which is almost better than the show - turning right over my house. I'll probably go see them Saturday. I always take a scanner with headset and the Thunderbird frequencies. When you can hear every word the leader says while they're flying it makes the show awesome. The last time he would be calling the breaks, chiding them when they flew like little old ladies, etc., it was pretty neat. Also you know which way to look as they are forming up, as they like to surprise you from behind at low level. It's an amazing show. Of course now, the whole base is smoke free, even out in the grass watching the show.
