I have posted this picture before, but there are alot of new folks around. LOL This guy is the leader of our local neighborhood watch.

Yes I know the gun is loaded. No I did not take the picture, his wife did. And yes, he does belong to the NRA. LOL

Boy, I just got a shiver and a flashback to 1985 in Madison, Wisconsin. I was on the wrong end of the pistol.

A life changing experience.

In Oklahoma when a man postures in the way depicted in this picture, it simply means "hey dude you seem like a nice fella, why don't you let me buy you a Schlitz and you and me shot the breeze." Similarly, in Spanish Harlem a raised middle finger means "best wishes to your family, particularly yo' mama."

#1 Treat every weapon as loaded, #2 never point your weapon at something you don't want to destroy, never place your finger on the trigger unless your weapon is pointed at something covered by rule #2 above.

Well, unless you're his wife, one out of three ain't all that bad.

It really disturbs me that people will pose for, and photograph, something like this.

No wonder us sane, responsible gun owners are constantly on the defensive!

Hey Keith,

I gotta agree. My neighbors have a digital camera, and no computer. When I was printing some pics for them, I kept this one, just to illustrate, hoe stupid some people are.

Shoot!! I hope my neighbor doesn't check out this forum. No he really is an OK guy, just doesn't know the first thing about gun safety.

Dave (A.K.A. Homebrew)

P.S. I think a gun safety course should be a requirement.

Hopefully two things happened:

1. He had the hammer down on an empty cyllinder.

2. The photo was taken by using the timer on the camera, with no one looking through the viewfinder.

And, if you'll look closely, he's not aiming at the lens. If I medium telephoto lens was used, he could have been aiming to the side of the photographer.

I was just thinking that I was held up in 85 also. But I refigured and it had to be 86.

Got out of retail shortly after that.

Bad form. Pointing a loaded gun, at your wife, with your finger on the trigger.

tsk, tsk.
