another angle. I'm thinking about doing charters when I retire, but needed a boat to go out and "learn the ropes" in I figure I'll upgrade when I get closer to retirement!501957.jpg

Does it run? I took on a similar project and I now have an extra Mercruiser outdrive for sale/trade if needed.

John Hay, Close enough, William, but thinking about the name 'Privateer' and when I can get a bigger boat, she'll be 'Buccaneer', there may be an intermediate step in there, so I AM considering 'Corsair'

take that boat out with a shotgun and a raft. If you can get it to go out 1 mile, do so. Shoot holes in the hull until she sinks. proceed to jump into your raft and row home. make that your first project

looks like a 19 foot deep v.

i'll bet that boat sits right down on the water with a 19 or 17 inch prop.

if it doesn't need reglassing, have it acid bathed to clear the bottom.

put some side rails of the trailer so you can drive the boat straight up onto the trailer. rollers or wood covered with carpeting.

our first boat was a 12' ring a ding with a 50 hp outboard. we reglassed the bottom, reconfigured the seating and painted it white with blue trim. the first one is the most fun.
