I have a rental car for work right now. For some reason, they gave me the new Dodge Charger with the Hemi. I'm on the fence with the looks of this car, but I'll be damned if its not the most powerful car I have personally driven. Scary powerful. Too bad I have to return it today.

take it to the max. peg it and see what it will do. so what if your insurance rates go up with the citation you will get, even the cop that cits you will admire you and the car.

Eh, my employer frowns upon citations. Its tempting, though.

Is that the one with enough room in the back for a surfboard?

If so, that would be a good fishin car since most of my rods are one-piece.

If you find yourself on this side of the river, let me know. There are a number of establishments that allow cigars here in Jersey.

Have fun.

Ryan take the new Mustang out for a rip (V8 of course). It works the Charger in every way, even being rated lower on HP. It's less expensive, handles better, quicker, lighter and looks way sharper.

Your right MACS, as long as it's AMERICAN i dig it. If it's foreign, I cringe. They are way over rated as the darlings of the auto industry. Look at Toyota, recall after recall. As soon as they have to start boosting vehicle outputs on par with the AMERICAN companys they eat ****. They (all foreign) got caught over rating their engine outputs and had nothing but a slap on the wrist. Yes, your Infinity only makes 255hp not 270. Toyota recalls all their hybrids and it's deemed commendable. WTF, if and when American companys have recalls it's the **** for them.

sorry about the thread jack Ryan.

Well mr 03screw... you are wrong. My car makes 260hp, not 270. And now it is probably more like 265 with the air intake mod.

Yes. 265hp out of a 3.5 liter V-6. 5 more horse power than that same Mustang GT you so dearly love was spitting out of their 4.6 liter V-8 a couple years ago. Though they did get smart and bump it up to 300 or so.

You prefer American, I prefer Japanese. Buy and drive what you like and I will do the same.

I've smoked many a mustang and even shocked a guy in a corvette by keeping up with him on the freeway. Ya know... you can only go so fast on the freeway. 130mph, I think we were doing. That G35 tops out at 151. I am not silly enough to believe I could beat a corvette in a race, but at freeway speeds, he couldn't 'leave' me.

Happy driving.

I'm sorry. I forgot to mention that the Mustang's 4.0 liter V-6 only puts out 210hp and couldn't keep up with my car going downhill with a stiff tailwind.

And I should have said Happy and SAFE driving up above.

I love driving.

I've driven many cars, but I have to agree that the Infinity G35 is one of the fastest cars I ever drove. I had the luxury of treating it like the rental that it was!

Recently, I have driven the new Charger, the new Mustang GT, a new G35, and a new G45....

All I can say is...

Love the rear wheel drive.

The Infinity's were just to much like a video game with all the things flashing and talking and crap. Yeah it was fast but just didnt do it for me.

The Charger is kewl. Nice big car. Doesnt excellerate anything like the Hemi Charger my friend had in high school. Not all that fast but the retro interior is neat. Kinna cheap looking but it had a certain kewlness. But the GT was the quickest toquiest most fun to drive of them all. Maybe cuz it was a 5 speed

(the new 5 series was the best, but hardly comparable)

NOTHING is like the late 60's era Chrysler Hemi-powered muscle cars ... even their 440/6-pack* powered cars were blown off the line by the Hemi Chargers and Hemi Cudas ...

* 440 engine w/3 2-BBL carbuerators which were frickin' AWESOME

Coda, I get it.

No, I rented it in Detroit to drive to Pinkney, MI. Not exactly an exotic destination in any respect.

I will note that my wife and I counted 3 foreign cars in the Cracker Barrel parking lot which had another 100 or so cars - all American. Amazing what a difference a few hundred miles can do.

Let me guess stogie, a Supra? Did you mention they aren't made anymore and Toyo has lost the heritage of them? They are by far the only Toyo I would drive. Hell, the stock bottom end can handle tons of power and some "extra" boost from the turbo (they DO NOT make them like that anymore). Twin turbo and it's over, but put that $$ into any car and your stoked! Not knocking you stogie, but it's like saying "I have a Z06", unfair advantage over a regular everyday car.
