Yea the scanner is still holding up well... I had to locate these pics after the post by Kcody on Japan and Misawa AFB.. Great Trip!
This was Tokyo 1994, we did an acceptance/transfer on our Aircraft back then... finished up early and I talked our troop commander in allowing 3 of us to head back 24 hrs earlier then the rest of the group so we could tour Tokyo... He allowed us, so we flew back into Tokyo, rented one of those large storage lockers at the airport.. shoved all our bags in those and headed out on the town.. I think we walked somewhere between 33-36 miles in 24 hrs... seen all the sites
we took the tram from the airport to the world trade center shown above, and from there walked the rest of the way around including back to the airport..
toured the Tokyo Palace, Tokyo Tower (shown) Hardrock Cafe, Harley Shop (got tons of shirts)Tokyo Dome (shown with the kids in picture, they were playing red light, green light.. and we played along with them for a little while) Sumo Wrestling Stadium and many bars along the way.. we fell into a nightclub late at night and Wow what we seen in there LOL...
