We have one that is identical.

She is a Green-Cheek Conier. (At least we think she is a "she") The only way to tell is to have DNA testing done or wait until she lays an egg.

Her name is Koo-koo. She also likes Red wine.

There's a neighborhood here in the City that has, or had, wild parrots living in trees. The guy who's property the trees were on got paranoid that they were going to fall on somebody so he started to cut them down. A neighbor of his, who wrote a book about the birds, got pissed and wrapped himself around one of the trees and now it's becoming a cause celeb.

Jordan is a Maroon-bellied Conure and we're not sure if he is a she or she is a he but my son Nick and I are claiming him since our dog Tiki is a she and if Jordan is a she, then we're outnumbered 4-2.

Now that doesn't mean that we win any arguments or anything like that...and as for those nuts hugging a tree...do ya think the birds might be smart enough to move on their own if the tree comes down...hmmmm

our maroon belly lived about 6 or 7 years. his name was snicklefritz and he could pronounce it clearly. he like to bath in the palm of my hands with the sink water running slowly.

the owner of one of the bird stores that knew me because i bought several birds from him, said if i could pick him up without him drawing blood i could have him.

when i left the store with him, snicklefritz was laying in the palm of my hand on his back so i could scratch his belly.

RICKMAVEN,

Jordan has similar habits. He also likes to lay in the palm of my hand and get the 'belly rub' but he's pretty particular on who handles him. Due to my military obligation I sent him home with my wife and kids to our retirement home in Oregon. She has him until I retire in Jan so he's getting spoiled though as her fingernails make for better scratching than mine. He has also developed a taste for single-malt.

Our bird dominates the house. We also have a black lab named Tiki and the bird scares the S$%# out of the dog. Once Jordan starts his skwawks the dog heads for the hills.

I think Jordan got a piece of her ear once and that was enough for her.
