It's a 530i. Mine will be Black on Black. Sport suspension, low profile 18' tires.

I like the way they look and drive. BMW's are nice cars and have been the benchmark sports sedan (according to the car magazines) for years.

Here's the thing that really bothers me.

330i - $37,000 (or close)

530i - $47,000 (or close)

Same exact engine. Bigger car, heavier, $10,000 more dollars to buy it. Same exact engine.

For $10,000 more dollars, i'd expect more power. A lot more power. At least enough to compensate for the weight increase. 255hp is all you get.

If just want to go FAST, this is not the car for you.

BUT

If you want to drive an excellent automobile...well here ya go.

This car isnt about fast. Its about the driving experience. In todays market, with the prices of EVERYTHING is so insane it makes you shudder, (hell I just saw a $35,000 SUBARU for pete sake) this car is worth EVERY penny. The fit, the finish, the cockpit doesnt look like a damn video game with all its neon and plastic. It is a VERY refined automobile. And one of the ONLY car manufactures that will alllow you to pick and chose what options you want. Most of the high end Japanese car makers force you to buy crap you dont want. Personally I dont want a nav system, cirrus radio etc etc etc.

When I was out shopping for these types of vehicles, the BMW salesman PLEADED with me to go drive the others first. The Lexus, Acura, Infiniti. But I said no, I wanted to drive the benchmark first. Well, it was sad for the others. That was just a nicer car PERIOD. No It didnt throw me into the back seat. But it was an Automoblie, where the others were just a car.

EXCELLENT choice sir. Out of my price range, but if I had the money, this is what I would buy.

Nope. My opinion still hasn't changed.

It may be the same engine but for a bigger car it gets the same gas mileage. Plus it has the on-board computer so the interior isn't filled up with a radio face.

Oh have I said anything about the way it drives!!!! Once you drive a BMW everything else is a donkey pulled cart. That's my opinion anyway.

I DO like the Infinity. Im sorry you take personal offense to my opinion. But the BMW is different. Im not HIGH on them. I just think that preference aside. It IS a better car.

But the same could be said about you and the manner in which you tought your car. You are high on the Infinity and take every opportunity to extole its virtues to anyone that posts a car thread.

You have a nice car Shawn. Id buy one. Im just pullin yer chain cuz of the frequecny of your posts about your car.

For anyone interested, THIS is how you have a disagreement. Upon further review, I guess it is a bit hypocritical of me to say that. I DO certainly extol my vehicle at every opportunity.
