jseeds, after awhile, NQ took on a life of it's own when played in concert. One version I've got recorded in Japan turned into one incredible funky blues jam that lasted for almost 30 minutes. WOW phukin WOW

sorry...no can do.......I belt'em out at the top of my lungs when driving.

If I turn the volume up enough, I sound just like Plant.

Achillies Last Stand Story...

We had a bassist come in and audition for us. He was ok, not real polished. Thought he was the shiz tho. After the audition he asked if he could switch instruments with the guitar player and jam on some cover tunes. Now mind you the Chris the guitarist is an instructor who also is a bass instructor. He is amazing on both. Well after banging thru some Billy Idol and what not (eeesh) He turns to us and says...."Ok boys, this one may stretch you a bit"

He starts the intro to Achillies (One of my favorite songs to play. He was playing it in the wrong key but thats another story) and then Chris looks at me his eyes all big as I almost drive my sticks thru my snare head on the first beat...

The poor **** didnt know what hit him...He just stood there with his mouth open. When we stopped after the about the second verse he just said....wow!

It was great

No question: Led Zeppelin was a massively important rock band. I was lucky enough to sit a few feet from Robert Plant on a business conference this past March and listen to him talk for about an hour. Amazing, insightful stuff.

As an aside, Seattle band Maktub does a killer cover of "No Quarter" on their great album "Khronos."

Also, Robert Plant's new solo album is actually pretty sweet.

I regret that the cops broke up the gig before my band could indulge BeatDragon and company with some "Whole Lotta' Love." I've got a few good live takes recorded, though.

Almost every Zeppelin tune is a great one. Album after album (the only song I can think of that I don't particularly care for is "Hot Dog.") Name another band with that much material that can say that.
