This is the bull who appeared about 5 minutes after we first saw the cow ... at the shoulder, he is approximately the same height as a Budweiser Clydesdale, but isn't as bulky ... nonetheless, he's an extremely impressive critter to have standing 15' away ...

I was driving with my wife and children in Bedford Ma. on Sunday afternoon (1:30 or so), when I slow down because 3 deer are in the middle of the road. it was a doe with two fawns. We stayed and watched then for a few minutes until they left.
I said to my wife I've been doing it all wrong. here I am getting up at four am washing wiht scent free soap, dressing head to toe in camo trying to get a deer. I should have been going out in the middle of the day driving around the suburbs in my truck.

Yeah I can see me explaining it to my two daughters, 1 1/2 yrs & 4 yrs old, no no Bambi is really sleeping. On our evening walks we come across this dead squirrel about three blocks from my house lying in the road. I tell them Shhh it's sleeping. My 4 yr old daughter replies, "No daddy its dead."

Steve, another amazing shot, uh photo shot that is!

I saw one like it near Jacksonhole a few years back. Being a city girl, I had no idea that they were so BIG!

Several other tourists were actually stupid enough to try to go up and pet it...we left. I hate the site of carnage (sp?)...

I do not know how anyone could go into the wilds and shoot an animal that is so amazing as a Moose! They are ugly looking critters, but beautiful in their own way!

Ugly, but beautiful in their own way ... yes, that they are. They are very striking, much larger than we somehow anticipate them to be, and although rather awkward and ungainly in some respects, can move muchmore quickly than a person and can be at full stride within a few steps ... the cows are far more volatile and dangerous than the bulls if their calves are nearby

Interestingly enough, other creatures are sometimes a bit less than attractive as well ... I'm thinking specifically of an incident just a few years ago that took place within a few feet of where the moose is walking in that pic that Rick was nice enough to put up after I'd had trouble with it ... I was sitting with my youngest son and my nephew when we saw a rabbit hopping through the brush ... just as my nephew commented on the "bunny", a very large and nasty looking bird swooped down, grabbed the "bunny" and began turning him into the "late Bunny" ... think of the roughest, toughest looking biker you ever saw, that was this big bird ... my poor nephew, in an effort to save the bunny, threw a rock at the bird, but the stone bounced off the bird's back much like a bullet bouncing off Superman and the bird just slowly turned his head, giving us the most evil-eye stare you ever saw ...

It was with a little surprise that I realized that the very mean, tough, nasty looking bird was an American Eagle ... beautiful, but ugly in his own way, you might say ...

Nice pic Steve. Guys this one's a no brainer, can't take the shot with the house/cabin/barn in the background.I'd either have to have a bit higher vantage point or wait for him to move a bit more to the right.Boom! Bullwinkle burgers. No offense B-W!

It's just that I haven't hunted since moving to Illinois. I get a little excited. Chase coyotes every once in a while.
