Here's my ride. The SUV of wheelchairs. It's fast (you have to get into a full jog to keep up). Turns in it's own radius. The big wheels and power will climb a six inch high curb. Forty two years of big bikes, and now I've got six wheels.572298.jpg

I am the terror of the malls and Wallyworld. I can make it from one end of the mall to the other at warp speed. I've taken out several displays that got too close. The ladies in the china shops sweat bullets when I do an (almost) power slide in the doorway.

I'd rather have legs that worked, but it gets me out of the house. Now if it just had drag pipes and a peanut tank . . . . .

Actually mine is in deep dark cobalt blue, extremely shiny. A good flame job would look really sharp, but never had had the cash to have it done right. I would like to have some good looking dual pipes peeking out from the back. Just for grins.

You'd hate my mower.

5.5hp and ya gotta push it. But it does have big wheels in the back...

'Course I gots a small yard and no need for a riding mower.

You really should change the pipes out though.

Hey Tuck, is that a Pride Mobility scooter?

No, it's a power wheelchair. A scooter has handlebar steering, are smaller, much less powerful, costs much less and don't have 1/3 the durability. Power wheelchairs look totally different and have zero turning radius and joystick steering.

This one is a Pride Jazzy 1170XL Power Wheelchair. It has "no flat" tire inserts and twin (much more powerful) motors, with an on-board charger. It will go thirty miles between charges. It'll last a week if I don't go all day everyday. I usually plug it in at night.

This one, and the lift for my van was almost ten thousand dollars. Thank the Lord for good insurance.

The little cheapos you see on TV cost about $2,500. And they fall apart before you get them paid for.

Nice...I meant the brand - Pride, didn't mean to call it a scooter.

I have several friends that work there...they build them where I grew up in PA

just was curious

They soup them up at the factory for fun - they had one that went about 30MPH, pretty scary if you ask me

This one will "do it in the dirt" pretty good. I take Tucker, our Boxer, out in the field for runs. I've taken it to places the brochures don't even think about. Of course I've got it stuck a time or two though. With it's added power and torque it can climb some pretty steep slopes.

I'd rather have legs that work, but this thing is a real blessing. I can go anywhere I want in my van by myself. Especially to my local for herfing.

You ought to see me flying through the mall with HD goggles and a scarf around my neck. Next I'm putting an Aaaauuuugggghaaaaaa horn on it. Those old blue haired ladies keep getting in my way.
