Tucker, our Boxer, (not me, Tuckersdad) is undergoing major oral surgery tomorrow morning. His recent series of strokes makes the surgery dangerous. We're quite concerned, he's been a major part of our lives, and is an amazing companion. He gives me tremendous diversion as I live a life of chronic pain and medical adventures myself.

He has a major infection, and much work must be done on his teeth and underlying structures. The Vets are concerned about him handling the anesthetic. We'd appreciate those of you who love pets, and consider them a part of the family, whispering a prayer that all goes well for him. Thanks, Tuck

From one pet lover to another...wish Tuck well.

We have an English Bulldog ("Boomer") which we were considering having Hip surgery because of his slight Hip Dyplasia (common in Bulldogs), but fortunately, Boomer responded well to medical treatments instead.

We have 2 border collies that are advancing in age. The male is 14 and and is still very active, but beginning to slow some. The female is 12. She's slowed down and mellowed out considerably, and physically is having trouble with stairs. She gained alot of weight and we switched to the senior food with the condrichton about 3 years ago. They both still have hearty appetites which is encouraging.

They have been such a huge part of the family for so many years it's hard to see them get old. What a joy they are. Unconditional love. They know your moods, and your schedule. They know the sounds of the home like the garage door, front door opening, your footsteps, the fridge, MICROWAVE!, power tools, you name it, they have a routine based on yours.

Best of luck with your pooch and we'll be thinking about you guys today.

Good dog.....

I will pray for Tuck, I am a dog lover and owner, have three of them (two Viszlas and a mini long hair doxie) and we have had various surgeries on our dogs and other dogs over the years.....they are wonderful companions do not ask for much just love and affection and they return it in basketfuls!

Good luck and God be with you Tuck!

TUCKER IS OK! He had extensive surgery, lost seven teeth and a good bit of his gums and some supporting material. But he made it through the anesthetic and is now awake and in the recovery stage, groggy but all his signs are normal. Doc says he is going to be MAJOR SORE for some time to come, but he's ok.

We really appreciate the thoughts and prayers from many who understand how we feel about this big lunkhead.

Good for Tucker! We had a doxie, Norma Jean, who had about 7 teeth when she died at age 15, but she was still eating milk bones up until we had to put her to sleep....sad day! Always is!

Tuck, I'm very glad that Tucker came through OK. Our 'pets' do become family and I know I think of ours that way.

BTW, I'm glad to know what your handle means. Here at my home I'm called Papa (in reference to our large family of critters) by my lovely wife Susan and our Tucker is a 110lb German Shephard. Smartest and best dog I've ever had. Maybe its in the name. Ha.

They call me Tuckersdad because I look just like him (in the face, I don't have that musclebound body).

Glad to report that Tucker is back at home, resting quietly on the foot of our bed. He'a getting lots of love. He's still groggy from all the pain killing drugs, but sleeping peacefully. The vet says he will be facing some serious pain when he awakes fully. The vet showed me what they removed, seven teeth and a lot of underlying supportive material. It was nasty. But our big boy is going to be ok and we're thankful for that. Thanks again to all of you.
