There is a certain amount of satisfaction to be had by beating the living daylights out of someone with a blunt object. If there is hair stuck to the bat when you are done you know you've done a good job.

Not that I've ever kissed anyone with a bat, but I have a list if the opportunity ever presents itself.

I wonder if a pair of those is probably cheaper than marriage counseling...

The possiblity of superior weapons is no excuse not to keep a variety of weapons close at hand.

most domestic killings (accidental or otherwise) happen in the bedroom.

I would just rather live in a place where I don't need a gun to protect myself.

Guns are for hunting and target practice. I love doing both.

Anyplace where I need a gun in my home to protect myself is a place I will not live.

I'm not trying to start trouble Adroomi, but where exactly do you live that you feel absolutely 100% safe and sound in your bed? I choose to live right here in the good ole' USA but I also choose to keep guns in my house for protection. The police or government can't protect us 24/7 and its silly to think so. Now, do I think that means that everyone should keep a gun for protection? Well, no. It's a personal choice but I like to be better prepared to defend myself and my family if the need should arise. I guess I'm just not buying the argument that you live somewhere where you are totally safe in your bed every night. Sounds more like you just make a personal choice to not use firearms to defend yourself. I know you choose to live outside the USA (I think?) --- can you even own a firearm or a handgun where you choose to live? This question wasn't intended to be a "knock" I just wanted to know if that influences what you can and can not have in your home where you live.

A gun is a tool, nothing more, nothing less.

Tony,

Thanks. I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head though. You are right, I choose to NOT use a gun for protection. I have lived, do live, and will live in the future in places where I can own one for protection. By the way, I do collect guns and have a pretty extensive collection. Hog and I have discussed them before....mostly paramilitary.

I look at the stats involving gun accidents, and choose to not put myself in a situation that involves me keeping a loaded gun in my bedroom. An 18.5 inch Mossberg 500A Stainless with pistol grip is the perfect home defense weapon for me, however I simply won't keep it loaded if there are others in the house besides just me.

Just my rules I suppose......

Good rules.

My Dad told us don't push no one. But, don't be pushed by anyone.

Moss 500 20ga w/#8 bird will stop alot of pushing.

adroomi - lose the pistol grip.

Bandit - lose the #8 bird and get 00Buck.

Tony, what Adroomi didn't mention is that by the time an intruder climbed over the 867 orange crates full of lps and waited his turn in the long line of young volley ball players/flight attendants to get to Adroomi's bedside, Adroomi would have caught the 730 flight to Hong Kong. No gun needed!

Steve02,

Yes, there are those that recommend that.....I'm okay though, as I am comfortable with the pistol grip.....I would only need to be shooting at something across the room I guess. Point taken though...thanks.

Hey Rug,

If I post a photo of my Lp's, will you:

a) shut the f*ck up before Ryan has to bust your arse again

b) take me up on that bet for $300 bucks that you challenged me twice to.

c) put a small wager on it first to see if I really do have them or as you claim...don't

d) shut the f*ck up and quit trying to troubleshoot me. How many times do you have to bite it before you realize that it really is a p*nis in your mouth?

Adroomi, would you please get a sense of humor? You are really at your best when you keep it witty.

a. Yeah, he's scary. His scathing attack was horrible. I think Mraven peed his pants. Ryan might have too, seeing he never left his keyboard for 36 hours waiting for a response. Hope he was wearing his jammies with the feet.

b.sure, as soon as you honor your promise to pay my gas bill...

c.never said you didn't have 8,000 lps. I just find it to be a staggering amount. If I post a picture of Elvis will you admit he's alive and that I have him in an orange crate?

d. If it's yours I wouldn't notice it, or perhaps mistake it for a toothpick. That's why you are into butt sex isn't it?

ps It just hit me how stupid your tantrum was. I say in the post that so pissed you off that you have a huge record collection and that there is a line of chicks waiting to get into bed with you.

If I had added you were rich, important, and smart I would have affirmed everything you have spent thousands of hours trying so deseratly to convince everyone of.

Is that why you're mad? That I didn't add those?

There. Hope that meets your approval. Merry Christmas!

My 870 remington with pistol grip is close at hand but you would be hard pressed to find it in my house.

4 rounds in the tube one round in the receiver, slide back so all I have to do is slide the forearm forward to chamber a round

First round #4 buck for a wider pattern second thru 4 is #00 buck and yes I know how to combat load a shotgun if more rounds are needed so I don't feel the need for an extended magazine tube

The pistol grip makes it easier to walk thru a doorway with the gun at the ready

And most of the friends I have dont make a habit of going thru my stuff looking for guns

I guess it is the company you keep

EI,

I like your choice in guns......and your reasons.

I first got turned on to the Mossberg's in the Army. We used to keep one in a sling on the ramp of our CH-47's, but would only load birdshot ("hopefully" to NOT penetrate the aft transmission, aft shaft, and/or driveshafts if we needed to fire in the cabin at whomever we might be airlifting).

EI - I'm curious - how do you plan on shooting the gun with the pistol grip? In what position?

As for moving, there is a high search and a low search position that makes moving simple, with a full stock.
