What a weekend we had. Didn't do a thing, but it was great. My wife had a three day weekend. We talked about doing various things, but finally decided what we wanted most was just peace and quiet. Lazy mornings, breakfast in bed, gourmet coffee and our puppies splattered all over the bed.

We devoted most of it to just being together, cooking, reading, and loving the puppies. Of course I had to enjoy some special cigars, and found out I enjoyed my "regulars" just as much or better. It's good to have cheap tastes.

Tucker, our Boxer whose had so many medical problems was feeling good, so he got a lot of attention. I took him out for runs each day. It does my heart good to see him running and jumping again. The Chihuahua got really mad because she couldn't keep up. Biscuit, the old Schnauzzer just laid in the shade and looked at both of them like they were crazy. Those three crazy characters are better than TV.

Probably sounds pretty boring to most of you, but it sure was good, just enjoying each other. We fired up the grill and enjoyed the best pork ribs I've ever put in my mouth, along with corn on the cob and potatoes. I wouldn't have traded it for dinner in a five star restaurant.

Twice we decided to go out, but each time changed our minds and just hung around and goofed off. No work, no calls, no "honey-do's", didn't worry about a thing. It's pretty neat when you can be married this long and have so much fun together doing nothing. And it's really great when your wife is also your best friend.

Hope your weekend was just as good.
