We have developed new technology for the perfect cigar light. I'm talking a perfect distribution of heat to create a perfect even light without a flame or the harsh tastes of touching a flame to the tobacco. Even a match can sometimes fail and light the tip of the cigar, but with this new lighter you will get a perfect light every time and you can't screw it up. This technology would run between two to three hundred a lighter. What do you all think about that and is this something you would buy? Thanks for all of your help.

I was talking to my father in law who is a cigar lover like myself and we came up with a brilliant idea. He is an engineer so he could make it happen. I wasn't trying to offend anyone and this isn't a prank. I just thought since people spend thousands of dollars on little humidors like (elie bleu) please excuse the spelling. I wouldnt be in it for a huge profit, the lighter would really basically cost that much. I just wanted to see if there was a market for such a lighter. I usually achieve a good light from a match or lighter but there are always times when you burn the tobacco and receive a undesirable taste. I have tested this new design with about 25 cigars and achieved a perfect light without a flame everytime. Thank you all for your honest opinions. I appreciate all of your responses.

Actually the cigarette lighter in my old '85 Jeep worked great. No flame, just hot enough to cook the edges. When it came time for the final light...I pushed the thing in with my fingers to get it just a little hotter than when it popped out then I get a perfect all around light.

The only problem is, it was only good up to 50 ring gauge.

My response would be...no thanks. Maybe you will have a limited market through "Sharper Image" catalog. But not here.

You might want to ask the cA crowd...I can't see paying a thousand dollars for ANY humidor (unless it was a huuuge cabinet humidor)...cA crowd apparently has the cash to spend on a lighter for $2,000...That's too funny 😛

My mistake..reread it and it said 2-300 a lighter...I know of people that already spend that much on their lighters (Du Pont, for one)...You might get a market for it, but not here..Maybe some other "higher-class" boards like cA...Good luck!

I think the 2,000 number came from misreading of follow up posts. If I can read this early, the person is gonna sell them for 200 - 300.
Sure there is a market. The name brands have lighters that cost that much. They sell them. Patent your product and good luck. You may have to sell the idea to a known manufacturer.
I wouldn't buy it until it got down to the $10.00 range here at Cbid.
And why don't they make a lighter like the ones in cars. Mine lites em at 70mph just fine.
