I bought one of those travel metal cigar cases. How long can you keep a cigar in one of these. Is there anything special I have to do?

I have two...one is a curved 5 cigar holder, and the other is flat and holds 3...

I must say that I'm very disappointed in them. Or maybe I should say in me...for not grasping the concept of sizes and their names...size IS important!

All of my 'gars are way to long for my cases : (

Bummer...

Can someone give me the lowdown on sizes and names...Yes, this is open to your own interpretations, lol! Or else it would just be a boring little cigar site. Right? But hopefully there will be one straight answer...

I too would like to know how long a cigar can be kept in one, although I tend to smoke mine rather than sit on them (Monica innuendo)...

Name Danny
Size-One size fits all (or so I like to think)

The truth is though, if you mean a pocket type cigar case like a flask, very few of them accomodate the largest ring sizes. I have the travel humidor that holds 3 to 5 and the one that holds maybe 12 to 15. I mean the one that is auctioned here, is black, has a brass screw on lid, is cedar lined. I recommend it. It has a humidification disk in it, but you could drop a travel humi stick in it or drop in a humideze unit. Maximum time you could keep smokes in it is virtually unlimited

...if it tastes good, eat it..uhhh..I mean if it smells good...wait...if it smokes good drink it..YES!

Actually, I got the 3-finger leather case from CBID. Nice tight sleeves of leather that keeps my smokes perfect for that day (if I happen to find time) or for several days. When I'm not using it, I keep it in the Rubbermaidador. It easily holds the lengths and ring gauges I smoke.

they look very nice on a shelf with other cigar memorabilia.

cbid has at auction every so often a case with 2 metal tubes and a note that you can keep a lighter or a cutter in the top flat. i don't know what they call this item but the description should get you there.

i have a half dozen and i usually keep 2 in the car. one has good cigars and one has great cigars. the metal tubes have a gasket seal on top and cigars can last a week or so. each tube will take up to a 50 guage x 7 1/2. i think these go at auction for about $10.00 or less and worth every bit of it.

e-chick re size counts. as boggy said in casablanca, you have been misinformed.

LOL@all of you!

Rick: I do love you...

Danny: I saw several of those humis here on auction today and nearly bid...I need more info, but as for the flask-like cases, yes, those are the ones.

I think I need 3 fingers...of a leather case that is. I saw the expandable one here. Now if nobody else will bid, I'll get a good deal : )

Jim: haven't forgot you...just been wacko as slim would say...and maybe you'll get a flavored one ;)~

And in the words of newbie Jimsomethingorother: Bad E-Chick, bad, bad, bad...but I prefer nasty!

Marla, here is the link to the larger size traveldor. I have a few of the flask type as well as this one. The largest ring size you'll get in the flask type is probably 48. You could put a humi stick in one of the slots of the flask and it would keep your smokes fresh for the life of the humi stick or until you recharged the travel humidifier. I have a smaller version of this traveldor also and I swear by it. I do use a flask type when I go to an upscale affair when i would be wearing a jacket, but again, I can't take my largest smokes. Anyway, here's the url

Do you know anything about this one?
Danny

yes, I have 3 of them. They are nice for what they are. I don't really use it though. I prefer the larger silver one that holds 5 smokes and slightly larger ring sizes. Plus in the summer, there's no way to keep the smokes fresh all day, and they tend to dry out if it's warm. I intend to give them as gifts at xmas. They would work well though if you just wanted to carry a couple of smokes for an evening out somewhere, but for me, a couple isn't enough.

Thanks, that is what I was wondering if it is something that would work for a day or something that would last a couple days or ?
