So, I'm just curious if anybody is as outraged over those stupid murdering murderers in Afghanistan going on a vicious murderous rampage as those stupid murderers were about some no name guy in the US burning a book.

actually, I have been wondering if there is a legal case that can be made where those Florida idiots can be either sued for damages or jailed for reckless endangerment

Meh..

We tolerate members of the Westboro Baptist Church taunting the families of a fallen hero and we can tolerate a nut job burning a book.

When you let yourself be controlled by the action(s) of others you become their slave.

Yeah, but still, shouldn't a little bit of the blame go to the stupid vicious murdering murderers?

(edit: oops, I tried to post this after #2)

(edit2: and just to be clear, my intent on this thread was about the murderous rampage and not the book burning, actually. Although the subject does draw attention to that.)

It is sad that people were killed.

Other cultures don't understand that the burning of items, including others' religious texts, is one of our freedoms, and that just because one person or small group does so, they don't represent every other American.

Nevertheless, I think it is morally wrong to burn someone else's holey book. Outrage should be expected- along with retribution- from certain groups.

As to a legal claim for wrongful death or charge for committing a crime for the deaths, I very highly doubt it. Now, if they burn more Korans and people are killed as retribution which would be foreseeable,t hen there **might** be a claim or charge, but I still very highly doubt it.

I rarely post on political threads, but this story drove me to do so. First, Rich, I'm a lawyer an there is no case to be made. I'm sure rfenst will agree. Second, the fact that some nut job burns a book and causes this kind of outrage and flag burning is truly insightful about those we are dealing with over there. We don't understand them and never will. We need to eliminate any dependence on that area of the world, get out, and forget about it. Just my 2cents.

I say in the model of our dear leader we should continue to just let muslims burn american flags, throw shoes, burn images of our presidents, send them money, apologize for things we do or for offending them, feel sorry for them when they kill people in cold blood because they are misunderstood. Despite the fact that they treat women like shiit, murder indiscriminantly, act fanatical at every turn etc...etc...etc... And while what they did in FL was stupid and served no purpose all americans should be be-headed when we do something to offend them.

America should just continue to bend over and take it up the a$$ as we always have and just deal.

i would not think they could be held responsible in any way shape or form. people do things all the time that i disapprove of or insult my religious beliefs but that doesnt mean i go off killing people because of it. at the end of the day, the people committing the act are responsible for their own actions. It only shows their ignorance and how hopeless the mission in afganistan really is. you cannot reason with people who dont think for themselves. it is religion or nothing for them. all these uprising across the middle east/africa that america is supporting... these arent uprisings for democracy, they want strict sharia law!

moreover, their animalistic actions show the need for a dictator to rule them with an iron fist IMO. it is the only way to control them.
