Last night was my wife's and my first opportunity to eat Dungeness crabs....and, boy, did we LOVE 'em! I did the standard cleaning before steaming them so as to lessen the cooking time and they came out tender, sweet and delicious. We were both absolutely stuffed when we were done and all we had with them was a small salad.

I think I found my new favorite food. I also found another reason to move out west, as if I needed another reason.

Oh yeah, there was no after shot. Both of our plates ended up looking like a bomb had gone off! dungie hug (Small).jpg

The left coast has its advantages and this is one of them. The wife and I feast on these several times a year. I do the drawn butter accompaniment, she does mayo. Salad on the side with a good sauv blanc. 🖐 🖐 🖐

Went to med school in San Francisco. Miss Dungeness crabs. Use to have them all the time. Much better then Florida lobsters. Both are dificult to light and smoke, though.

Unless you're completely out of your mind DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT follow through on that idea.

If you're talking about moving to Cali, I agree. Wouldn't consider it. I'm looking at Montana. Not exactly Dungeness hunting grounds but a lot closer than I am now!
