I read recently that it is genetic or at least has to do with specific parts of the brain so I think a surgical or medicinal cure is still out there.

I am lobbying to have August declared "Liberalism: Find the Cure" month. We'll have 10K runs and walkathons and stuff.

It is a specific part of the brain that causes liberalism: the absence of a brain in the first place.
