Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison Wednesday for corruption convictions.
Blagojevich, a Democrat, was accused of trying to profit as he considered whom to appoint to succeed Barack Obama when the president vacated his Senate seat to move to the White House.
Blagojevich was convicted of corruption in June after a jury returned 17 guilty verdicts against him.
During his sentencing hearing, Blagojevich apologized to his state, his family and the judge, saying he is "unbelievably sorry."

Why did he apologize? 🤨 He kept stressing that he was innocent.

If he pardons him it will be on the last day in office like all the previous presidential cowards.

The guy is free until sometime after the holidays so he can spend it with his family. I thought at sentencing you were cuffed and hauled off to meet your cellmate.

No. This country feels very strongly that Blagojevich is guilty of terribly serious crime(s) of the worst kind against his state (and this nation). This is not going to change in any way at all over the next 1 or 5 years.
