Looks like you were fishing off shore. Most of our reds are caught in the back bays, tailing on oyster beds or flats. What kind of bait, or lures were you using?

Actually we are in the Pamlico Sound. Diamond Shoals area. We are sitting
Right outside a sandbar with white water on the other side of the bar. Using fresh mullet chuncks and casting into a channel between 2 sandbars into pretty rough water.

Now THAT is a nice fish. Good going, brother! So glad you found the bastards. I can't remember what the keeper limit is there but those are a good size for baking or grilling. Such a tasty fish. I hope you smoked a good one after that catch, you deserved it.🍺
