From the look of this photo, I'd go with Ronny Cox . . .

Great movie. Lot of truth in that movie, the way life was in the hills back a long time ago, and I ain't talking about the "love scene", either . . .

Many towns got flooded up there thanks to the TVA & Georgia Power. I've been rafting down the Chattooga River many times. Fun ride, but I think I'm getting to old for that sheeut . . . The guys who started Southeastern Expiditions rafting company, were the ones people scouting for the movie ran into, when they happen to see them canoeing the river. In fact, the one surviving canoe from the movie is hanging in their outfitters shop. Great Fun.

The North Georgia Mountains are absolutely gorgeous. Been going up 2-8 times a year for about the last 15 years.

But as far as reunions go, last year celebrating the 40th anniversary of the movie, the town of Clayton, GA did hold a festival, and Ronny Cox stopped by with his band to play. Billy Redden, the waterhead kid in the movie still lives up there.

For years, and still to this day, the mountain folk up there have taken a dim view of that movie, and rightly so. But, it is a classic . . .
