O quote
"There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me — because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t — look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet. "

He's right.

...And I pay an absolutely RETARDED amount of taxes every year to use those roads, bridges, and the internet. I've paid my price of admission, what I have I've earned because I've worked harder (went to bed at 5:15 this morning because I was up all night on a Saturday working -- average week for me is between 60-75 hours), taken risks, been smart about where I've put myself, never blamed anyone else for anything stupid I've done or failed to do, and quite frankly, gotten a couple of lucky breaks. Right place, right time, with the right answer. Oh, and here's one other thing: Every job I've had since I got out --every one of those lucky breaks I caught-- I can directly attribute to my military service. Thank you Army.

That's right, I VOLUNTEERED to defend the constitution of this country against all enemies foreign and domestic. I live in chronic pain due to injuries received while jumping out of airplanes and humping 100 pounds on my back up and down mountains. My peers went to frat parties and committed date rape while I was in overseas wondering if I'd ever come home. Now they cry that life isn't fair. Eff them. Work harder and quit expecting it to be given to you.

I've been poor. Really and truly at-or-below-the-poverty-line poor. When I first got out I supported a family on an eight dollar an hour job and burned through every penny of my savings to get an education. I didn't like it. So I worked my ever loving a$$ off and did something about it. Nobody should be promised a free ride, just an opportunity. If you piss away that opportunity, it ain't my problem. The world needs ditch diggers too. Just be content with your forty hour week and your six pack of bud light.

Sorry-- I normally stay away from the political threads but class warfare rhetoric burns my butt.

This is PSYOP 101 people! Literally the very first tool we learned to use to demoralize the enemy was this! Quit allowing yourself to be brainwashed by the "not fair" arguments.

lmao.

Telling other not to be brainwashed by 'not fair' arguments after a rant about how the world isn't fair because you and people like you are doing all the hard work and paying the taxes is f*cking hilarious!

Nah... Willful ignorance, strawman arguments, and toe-the-party-line nanny statism without a moments consideration of second and third order effects are f*ckimg hilarious.

It at least they would be if there wasn't such a significant percentage of the population who bought into it.

So you admit a 'life is unfair to me' rant, you just don't find it funny like I do?

I can see that.

Thomas More built a subdivision accross town from me and promised life would be fair there. I'm saving money so I can move in.

Straw man. Show me where I've said life is unfair to me. I've sad that I work hard and pay my taxes. An ascertain to the contrary is a flat out lie

Life isn't fair.

Is that even arguable anywhere but in here?

Yes, Romney saved the olympics. Only required a $600,000,000.00 bailout from the US taxpayers. Cheap compared to the banking industry! Bargain!
