This may be one of my proudest moments.
My 9 year old son calls me this weekend as says, "Dad, guess what I just did". "I shoot a coon!" The guys at the Herf met him. He's the little one we call Ocho.
So he goes into the story of how he hears his weenie dog barking and going nuts in the back yard. He goes to see what is going on, and he finds his dog has cornered a racoon. He tried to call the dog inside but the dog wont turn its back on the coon.
So he runs inside and grabs his pellet gun. He has a Gamo Shadow that shoots 1000 ft per second. He shoots it in the shoulder and drops the coon.
Now the pride in me doesn't come from him killing the coon. I'm impressed with the fact that he knew he could handle the situation!
He said, "Dad, I wasn't going to let the coon hurt my dog!"
Can't say that I blame you for being proud!
