Well wheel, I'm surprised to hear you say that. He's pretty vocal about being pro-choice and pro-gay marriage.

For the record: I didn't watch and haven't read the news yet this morning so I have no idea what was said. I just know I was surprise he'd be invited to speak as he doesn't toe any party lines.

dude,

I'm not anti gay marriage. That is none of my business and hurts nobody.

The abortion things hurts a lot of people.

I clearly mis-remembered one of your stances. My bad. I withdraw my previous statement.

Didn’t see it as I really don’t care to watch any of the Conventions. He is just another actor who wants to be in the spotlight to promote his new film (i.e. Trouble with the Curve - which looks good-btw). I put as much worth in what he has to say I do any other actor. They're just actors.

IMO

I am amazed Hollywood has the capability of producing someone with such poise to stand and talk to the man in the empty chair. I visualized Obama turning red in the face as he sat listening to facts.

Clint Eastwood was awesome as usually.

Didn't detect script or monitor during his speech.

At 83, Make my Day, Clint Eastwood, did a fantastic job. Did you notice he didn't scratch his head not once.

We need in Washington, a leader, a Congress & Senate, supreme court and elsewhere individuals projecting honesty, integrity, wholesome character and values that have the American people at heart.

Current administration is a joke.

my soap box for year.

I thought it was painful to watch and I'm a big fan. I had flashbacks of James Stockdale. He just seemed to stammer/bumble imo. It's like he didn't know how to talk since there was no script to read.

Clint is an actor.
He could have gone on stage and read from the script and used a Teleprompter and provided a "performance".

Instead, he spoke from the heart, using a few mildly funny one-liners and a handful of facts to rile the crowd.

Not great, but certainly not the bumbling fool that the media and some here are making it out to be.
The guy obviously means what he is saying.

And for those who don't "get it", he isn't talking to a chair. It's an Empty Seat.

I hadn't seen the performance until a few moments ago. I wished it were stellar. It was not. But it was worthwhile.
I like Clint, and I side with him politically (although I never knew what his politics were prior to this).
He isn't sharp enough any more to take over Carmel by the Sea, but he is more than able to point out the flaws in Mr. Obama while keeping it civil and even sane.

"The guy obviously means what he is saying."

For me that was the problem, I didn't know what he was saying. I forgive him since his movies are awesome...
