China manipulating their currency....Yep, I have to agree (but they learned it from the best...that would be US) Oh and by the way...we continue to do it through the Great Recession (something they/China has been whining about...screw them)

Russia...also agree to an extent but they were always artificially holding up the satellite countries economically so their current state more represents reality.

Don't get me started about Wall Street, but here unfortunately both parties are in bed with each other and the deregulation sponsored by Newt/Clinton back in the late nineties needs to be repealed in its entirety and most of the big banks need to be broken up. The idea of "too big to fail" needs to be removed from the lexicon.

Lastly, and I say this with a bit of trepidation, when someone says they "subscribe to Reality!", I shudder...the idea that any single person has that much information, that they have all the answers, that they can fix all the worlds ills, and that they alone have THE KNOWLEDGE of the world's situation is insulting and narcissistic. There are nearly 7 billion perspectives on this Earth and I doubt your brain can fathom them all...

I for one can provide a perspective and try to empathize with others...if I am successful at that, I consider it a good day 😣

Bobby...You do realize EVERYTHING you agreed with in that post...was counter to what I was replying to one of yours with...riight?

China learned NOTHING from the USA. NOTHING. They're used to being a major player and were doing just fine thousands of years ago...without US involvement.

What happened to the USSR is what's going to happen to us. Like it or not...we're gonna part the US of A into most likely 4 pieces...maybe 5. We're "artificially holding up the satellite countries economically" just as well. They dragged us down to their level too. Most of those nations do NOT respect Freedom nor Democracy.

Then there's the "reality" retort...Ummm...I was replying to the post you threw up there. Then you responded to my reply...and you amazingly AGREED with almost everything I had to say.

Food for thought.

China learned EVERYTHING they know about currency manipulation from the US (and other western countries we've just mastered the practices). We've turned it on them in recent years and devalued the dollar through interest rates and T-Bill swirl till we've just about driven the value of their investment in the US by about 75% (again screw them). Yes they are very used to being a major player but having your country torn apart by a World War and a Revolution will put a dent in that (at least for a while). They certainly have plans to change that it seems in the long run...wouldn't you say?

I would disagree with your premise on the parallel courses of the USSR/USA...not even sure where you are even going there. What satellite countries (other than maybe Israel) are we really supporting? Even then it is such a small amount of our overall budget as to be a pittance.

I've said my piece about your reality retort...we clearly disagree on the status of several things and I believe it to have been a arrogant statement. Nothing more, nothing less.

Korea...Vietnam...Germany...Afghanistan...Iraq...I could go on and on and on...about satellite countries.

Sorry, but China is the boss...who owns who again...who's in who's pocket?

We're going to go bankrupt. That's a fact. It just becomes a matter of how much we owe to whom. The USSr got off easy and fast. We won't!

"You people"...there we go with the blame game again...funny how I thought that I lived in the United States of America but lately it has become all about us and them. That will really solve problems...

I never said all was well (and get the Reagan quote right next time). I compared the current situation to two of probably the four greatest challenges that our country has ever faced (The Revolution in 1776 and the Civil War being the other two)...what I said was that we would get through it like we have other challenges DESPITE the end of the world (or this country) predictions being espoused on this board.

Just a note, I'm leaving this thread at this point...I'm just getting angry, it isn't solving anything, and to quote the immortal Bill Bixby "you wouldn't like to see me angry"...
