An interesting article that goes through some of the factors impacting the arctic ice.

I love that the "positive spin" is that more fossil fuel will likely be made available when the arctic ice is all melted. Ah well, wonderful true irony.

I'm fine with that. I'm assuming you don't have children either then.

(standard disclaimer - I don't have children and I don't like other people's children. I have zero need to preserve any functionality of this planet beyond the expected 50 years remaining in my life expectancy. If you do have children and/or grand children, it is your own damn responsibility to make sure the planet functions past 50years. I will personally loot, pillage and use every natural (and unnatural) resource I can afford. If you want any oil, clean water or breathable air remaining after I'm done with it, you're gonna have to stockpile it yourself).

Climate change is real, and has been happening from this planet’s beginning. Man made climate change is a myth, as well as the silly notion that puny man can control the earth’s natural climate cycles with wealth re-disbursement and power grab schemes like “Cap & Trade”.

I don't personally care, but to be so certain that man-made climate change is a myth, based on what I'm gonna assume is a high-school level science education, when large numbers of scientists who have dedicated their life to the topic believe otherwise, simply because you're sure they're all trying to conspire against you... well that's some interesting hubris.

I believe it's reasonably likely that the 7 billion of us generating pollutants, changing water-flow and generally deforesting large areas does have an impact on the climate (in some way shape or form). But I just don't care because, like I said, I don't care in the least bit about your children. I usually assume that most people who "don't believe" in our impact on the climate generally don't like their kids as much as they like convenience and are trying to rationalize the choice away. but I'm not judging.

Probably correct on that point.

Either way, I don't say "disregard any contradicting scientist". I would honestly never say that.

I DO however find it hilarious that people who have no science background at all, who NEVER read any of the scientific articles, will still, based on what I can only assume is convenience, immediately side with the minority of scientists who conveniently tell them to keep doing exactly what they want to be doing.

Please, feel free to read the dissenting scientists research papers.

What percentage of people (on either side of the issue) do you think have looked at any of the research? How many do you think are just choosing a side because it's what they want to do?
