I'm also testing transferring domain controller roles from a windows 2000 and 2003 domain, at the top of the first rack, to a windows 2008 R2 domain, the little server with all the red SATA cables (RAID 10) sticking out of it at the bottom of the back rack.... a small snapshot of what I'm doing at work.

Lessee... In the first rack, top to bottom, a Supermicro Superserver Atom powered D510 and a D525. Below that is a CiscoASA 5505 security device, then a Cisco 200-26 gigabit switch, then a 2 TB D-Link NAS, then a Cisco 1841 router (which isn't powered up), and below that are 2 little Shuttle X27D Atom powered computers, and at the bottom a Belkin UPS.

Over at the bottom of the back rack is another Supermicro D525 that I have 4 laptop size SATA drives connected in RAID 10. This is a Windows 2008 R2 server that I will be turning into a Domain Controller for practice. The little case isn't really designed for 4 hard drives, but the motherboard supports 6. So, I just have the guts spilling out all over the place.

The big computer on the floor in the foreground has 12GB memory, a Core i7 920, and a GeForce Ultra 8800 on an ASUS P6T Deluxe motherboard.

That's a Dell XPS M1730 laptop in the middle.

When I was first moving things around in the new house, I accidentally knocked over that middle monitor. It broke into 3 pieces, the front bezel, the lcd and circuit board, and the back case part. I put it all back together and it fired up ok. The screen is a little scuffed up, but hardly noticeable.

Not shown, and still in boxes I have several pieces of Cisco gear. I think I have 2-2621XM, 2-2651XM, another 1841, a 2811, a 3640, a 3745... all routers. And I have a couple of 2690s, a couple of 3550s, and a 3560 with POE... all switches.

I also have 6 other computers, 2 other laptops, and a PS3 all powered up in 2 other rooms and they are folding proteins:

I bet I've probably spent just about an equal amount on cigars and geek gear.

Why? Just because.... and I guess it goes without saying.... not married.
