Found this old printed and engraved book for testing color perception. Engraving is rarely used in today's digital printing age, and offers a unique look and texture that can't be reproduced digitally. Thought it would be fun to share. Can you see them all?


Psuedo-Isochromatic Plates for Testing Color Perception
ADMINISTRATION
The Demonstration Plate must be shown first (a red "12" on a blue background). All of the remaining 14 plates are then shown. About 2 seconds should be allowed for response to each plate.

SCORING
If 10 or more responses to the 14 test plates are correct, entry shall be made in the subject's record, "Color Vision
NORMAL." If 5 or more incorrect responses are given, including failures to make responses, entry shall be made in the subject's record "Color Vision DEFECTIVE."

The Demonstration Plate is not considered in scoring. In plates with two-digit numbers incorrect responses to either is a failure for the plate.

The test is for screening purposes only. It does not classify type of red-green defect or amount of defect. No provision is made for detecting defective blue-yellow vision.

#9 is the toughest one for me.

Have to work at 8,9,10,11,14. I'm still not sure about 8, 9 and 10. I'm rather surprised.

But it's reproduced digitally here so we can't see the unique look and texture.

im pretty sure all minutars are alike and properly calibrated.

I was in the printing industry years ago, and remember this test, was once very proficient, and blended my own inks for large volume jobs, viscosity, zahn cups,ink draw-downs, etc. brought back some old memories, thanks, brother
