In 1938, Frank Sinatra was arrested for carrying on with a married woman, a criminal offense at the time.

Elvis Presley was arrested in October 1956 for assault and disorderly conduct fueled by a gas station fight in Memphis.

October 1965 Johnny Cash was arrested returning from Mexico with possession of 668 Dexedrine and 475 Equanil pills found in his guitar.

Jimi Hendrix was arrested at Toronto International Airport airport in May 1969 after customs inspectors found heroin and hashish in his luggage.

September 1970 the jury found Jim Morrison guilty on the misdemeanor charges of indecent exposure and profanity during a stage performance.

David Bowie, which was snapped in Rochester, New York following the singer's March 1976 arrest on a felony pot possession charge.

Mick was arrested for trying to interfere with Keith's arrest.
Marshall Chess was arrested for trying to interfere with that, and Robert Frank was arrested for filming the whole thing.
Stan Moore (a security guy) was also arrested, apparently because the photographer complained about him too.
Bobby Keys really wanted to be arrested as well, as a show of solidarity, but the police didn't oblige him.

Janis Joplin was arrested in November 1969 in Florida and charged with disorderly conduct after yelling obscenities at police officers during a Tampa concert. Charges were later dropped after it was ruled that the singer's actions were an exercise of free speech.

Kurt Cobain was arrested by Aberdeen, Washington police in May 1986. Cobain was booked for trespassing after he wandered onto this roof of an abandoned building at 618 W. Market Street.  He was caught, according to the paper, after he “wandered onto the roof” of an Aberdeen building that now houses Juicy Tan and Westside Communications.
