Got laid off back in January. Getting a might scary paying for ale and cigars. Been studying for my CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate certification). Gotta get that soon and start looking for another job.

I've been doing this almost all my life...love it...its challenging and rewarding...I'll pass on a secret that's served me well. Cling to the gear. There are too many companies that want "smart hands"...that idea...doesn't work. People start turning into replacement specialists from afar.

I remember those days. Used to have a u shaped desk with 4 monitors, all with 4 way switches and a couple of racks of servers, switches, etc... In the basement when I lived in VA. IBM is setting up shop here next year. Gonna hire 800+. Been considering returning to the life.
