...change or drop your cable/satellite/etc... service if they put Al Jazeera on their basic cable package?

I already did years ago, (Dish and Directv, no cable here) there was already to much crap on it then and I only watched a half dozen or so stations anyway. Don't miss it a bit.

Good news source and 6 minutes of commercials vs. 15 makes it even better.

I got rid of Satellite, and cable, over 10 years ago. My only connection to information, and entertainment is the net.

So no.

No, I watch Al Jazeera all the time. Much to my initial surprise, Al Jazeera reports sensibly overall on world/financial affairs, yes, including Europe's riots. Balances my viewing, while Fox, CNN, MSNBC, and gang sometimes get mired reporting Treyvon stories or show simulcasts of an Obama speechie speech. And if you think Al Jazeera is biased, watch Russian TV (RT) and it's sister station Spanish TV sometime.

So to answer your question again, no, I find the content on stations like MSNBC much more objectionable than Al Jazeera's.

I don't have cable or satellite as I don't sit and watch tv, but Al J was one of the first to do live streaming tv on the ipad, so I watch it from time to time there. I don't do it often anymore as I got really fatigued by news channels in general.

'Al Jazeera America will provide domestic and overseas news coverage with bureaus in a dozen cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Miami and Detroit. The Qatar-based Al Jazeera network announced the purchase of Al Gore’s Current TV earlier this year, and has hired former CNN journalists Ali Velshi and Soledad O’Brien among its correspondents.'

so it's all Gore's fault ehh..?? 🤔 🤔

and what happened to the thing that said foreigners couldn't own tv and radio stations..??? 😕

So far anyway, al Jazeera is providing the objective standard.. which, given the other choices, isn't saying a whole lot...

Btw, Victor, they recently deleted Al Jazeera from the Comcast/Infinity network.

Mr. Buckwheat, you are a powerful man.

I sorta understand the 'yawn'...AJ doesn't have the boobs and tight dresses that Fox does...and they completely overlook the assinine 'human interest' stuff on the others that may not necessarily 'interest' us, but does on occassion 'entertain'

If it isn't a story that really interests me, they can come off a little stiff and maybe boring
