He was apparently in an auto accident where he damaged his nose badly & allowed the cartilage/bone to "disintegrate" by not having it treated. So the doctors came up with bone from a rib, stretched the forehead skin over it, and molded it into a snout, er, nose. Should be ready for transplant onto the face in a few months after proper blood supply is established.

Well at least he is still short......
