This is my new 'house' on Kwaj. I am standing at one of the walls and looking back across the whole place. Well, there's a sink, 2 small closets and the bathroom over to the left.

Still got some unpacking to do. That's My Verona in the tall box by the door.

We have a guy on vacation. I put in 130 hours in the last 80 hour cycle working mostly 9:00PM until 7:30AM. (We are a 24/7/365 'shop'). Once we get back to normal I hope to get all the unpacking finished.

These rooms were initially designed for 2 people, but it's just me. And I don't cook in here, except with the microwave occasionally. Got to get up and ride the bicycle over to the chow hall if I want to eat regular. I've lost 15 pounds since I arrived, down to 185 from 200.

I brought the computer and few other odds and ends with me and mailed some stuff out here. All of the other stacked up boxes came on a barge and took almost 2 months to get here.

Yes, Kwajalein Atoll. Marshall Islands. I was here from 2005 until 2012. Then I got a job back in Texas in April 2012. That lasted until the end of January 2013. The company started outsourcing everything except their core software business. HR, Payroll, IT, ... So, I got laid off. (I think they actually just hired somebody smarter, younger, and better lookin' than me and haven't actually outsourced IT yet!)

I was moving right along unpacking stuff and got the Verona unpacked, but then the A/C in the building started failing and went out over 2 days ago. Called the Help Desk... "We're working on it."

I'm leaving the cigars in the shipping box for now. The room temperature is over 80 degrees and about 75% humidity. It's about the same temperature in the Verona, but the LG Hydra humidifier is telling me it's 79% humidity in there.

It was cooler outside at the Vets Hall last night! 🍺

Had a Sosa Third Harvest, a Cohiba eXtra Vigeroso, and a CAO Italia. My mouth was thanking me this morning!
