Any of you computer gurus ever use this? I'm sure it's not perfect but is it worthwhile in blocking ads and other advertisers tracking? Does it screw up websites I actually want to see? Anything I should know but probably don't?

Thanks in advance

No trying to be a peni$, but what is it you're trying to accomplish?

If you are having problems with lot's of pop-ups, etc... You may want to consider the browsing habit of the user(s).

Abstinence is the best prevention for pregnancy.

Just doing a quick perusal of their website indicates they are collecting data from somewhere, regardless of their claims. Also, allowing a third party app control of your browsing choices is going to slow things down regardless of claims made otherwise.

If you want to PM me with more specifics, I'll be glad to give you a more specific answer.

I use it on my machines at work and home. At work I use it to identify which tracking/advertising systems are being used on a website. At home I use it to block those same systems.

It will limit some functionality depending on what you block, however, you can easily pause it or whitelist certain sites. For instance some sites use video services that are tied to advertising so you need to unblock to watch video content.

If you're just trying to block adds & pop-up, why not Mozilla Firefox with the Adblock plus add-on. The built in pop-up blocker works well and allows you to chose which sites you want to block them from all together and which you want to allow. Adblock plus keeps the functionality of the sites but blocks the banners and other annoying adds. I have used Firefox & adblock plus for years with no complaints.

I used it for a while. It would interfere with some forms and sites. I prefer Foxfire with No Script.
