Why would you want to then further the damage by subjecting them to light damage in the liquor store coolers?
Think of it this way, and be honest with us, do you drink beer on tap? Didn't you brag about having a kegerator?
A keg is just a big can isn't it?
FYI, I'm usually a bottle advocate, but I wanted to do a taste comparison between Bitburger Pils and the one my friend brews. I've been riding him pretty hard about his Pils, and I wanted to use a benchmark to see if I was right in what I was thinking. I purposely chose a can to limit the damage that the beer might have. Turns out that when tasted side-by-side, the Bitburger had a noticable damaged taste issue that I couldn't pick up at home.
Once you get exposed to what is really going on with beer, by people that have garnered a lot of respect in the industry, your philosophies start to change in unexpected ways.
That being posted by me, I still hate cans and don't buy them at all. 🍺
