You guys must have gone to bed early last night judging by the silence. You missed another thrill fest starring The Boston Red Sox.

Sox/Cards yet again. Two very traditional baseball towns. Too bad they aren't playing this at the beginning of October

When they went down 2-1 in the sixth, I had to quit watching. If I'd have seen the granny Victorino hit I'd have been so jacked up I would have fallen asleep at 4am!

Frank, you serious? The World Series is on now?

Wow, big change from when I was a kid and everyone was glued to the b&w for Koufax v Ford, etc.

Koufax, but not on Yom Kippur!

LOL!! Had similar as I grew up listening to Senators' night games with radio under pillow. The imagination did all the work...and Del Unser slides into third after Epstein's opposite field double. The towering Frank Howard comes up to the plate... sweet memories of Shelby Whitfield and Ron Menchine with their play by play magic until 1971.

Detroit was tough. St Louis will be tougher.

They (MLB) killed the game. They sold out for the marketing and night game advertising dollars at the cost of a generation of fans. Few people under 30 give a crap about baseball.

never know what to expect from the Sox, someone different every night. Victorino is a gamer, even gave up switch hitting due to injuries.

Cards will be tougher. Two real "teams", no Pujols, no Adrien Gonzalez types.

ah, yes! The old transitor under the pillow trick. I did it for all sports. Johnny Most high above courtside, 11:00 tip offs from the Cow Palace in San Fran, Russell v Wilt. I'll never know how the radio would always be on the night stand in the morning.

Unser could scoot. Camillo (sp?) Pasqual serving up curveballs back then?

Damn you guys are old.

If the Braves don't make it I usually root NL unless my Rangers are in. Just hope to see some good pitching.

Two boys from Hawaii on opposite teams.

Shane obviously the more well-known but Kolten Wong will be someone to watch in the next few years.

Need to wipe away the 2004 Series.

Yes, you have a phenomenal memory, Frank. Del was a great defensive outfielder & consistent above par hitter. I came to the DC area at the the tale end of Camilo's fabled career and his second stint with Washington. Yes, he was good & was also complemented by ****** Bosman. Problem is, our neighbors 40 minutes away (Orioles) had McNally, Cuellar, and Palmer. 🤦

8, you're saying Lou Brock's free agency ruined baseball?
