RANT ON

Ordered something for my daughter for Christmas on Friday 12/13/2013 and paid for 2nd day air. UPS didn't pick up the package for 9 days.

I had one package that was picked up by UPS at 6am Christmas Eve in Kentucky, hit Memphis at 2pm, and arrived on my doorstep at 6pm. No complaints here.

It's possible that the company you purchased from didn't give it to UPS for 9 days. Either way I'd give them a call and get some money back.

I never use UPS... FedEx did manage to screw me this year... overnighted perishable items to my sister in Seattle for Christmas Eve delivery... they took 5 days to get there... money was refunded but that wasn't the real issue...

I know lots and lots of people got screwed by promised 2 day deliveries this year... call UPS and call the company you got the item from... as long as you're calm but assertive you should be able to get something from both of them...

It's the fault of the company that you bought it from and not UPS.

We sold lots of gift cards and stuff that we would ship out USP and Fedex daily leading up to Christmas. Any day that we didn't have a driver come by for a pick-up, we would drop off the package at a drop box to make sure it got out that day.

After the OP I gave it some thought and have come to the conclusion that Target and UPS are to blame. UPS for waiting 9 days to pick it up as evidenced by the fact it had a UPS scan on the 16th and a Target for not asking why it want picked up as scheduled.

Ordinarily I'd shrug it off. But, because it was for my disabled daughter I'm super pissed. Unfortunately, nothing can be done to compensate for her disappointment.

Abri, like you said, Target probably dropped the ball more so than UPS since they didn't push for a timely pick-up. I've found that if one drops their package off at a UPS Store or shipping facility, they are on par with FedEx for reliability. Although, I've had hair raising moments with indifferent FedEx delivery guys as well, who don't bother to check for forwarding addresses, drop off packages with next door "neighbors, ignore the average lifespan for stool samples, etc. Speaking of stools, the ultimate worst is the US Postal Service. They are run like a Third World entitlement shangri-la. That is why they are slowly going out of business.

I'm pizzed that UPS is not delivering today. I have cigars that i needed today and they wont be delivered until Thursday now. If I'm working today....so should they!

And Target....another rant. My credit card was canceled during Christmas shopping because they couldn't keep their security secure. ( did end up saving me money though)
