Appears that the 6+ foot "black" (King?) I beheaded with an edger a few years back as he sunned from under my front steps has family.

Have seen the tracks in the snow.

Any suggestions besides Dr. T's snake repellant pellets?

Can't wait to hear what Andytv's funny bloody spanaird. has to say.

If it's a king snake, leave it alone. It'll eat yard rodents. But, if you're such a pu$$y that the sight of a snake makes you pi$$ in your pants get a 12 gauge.

My wife doesn't care for snakes, especially when they're large, coiled, and napping on the garage steps into the house.

I'm also concerned about the kids, two of whom are autistic, er, handicapable and liable to pick it up...8-[

As to the snakes....we had wire-mesh traps in Guam. Baited with mice - dead or alive didn't seem to matter. Very effective. Prob different kind of snake, but worth a try

I shot a copperhead (with 12 gage..👍) last summer in the yard.. I noticed about 10 ft away was a dead mouse my wife's cat had brought home and killed.... I wondered if the snake was going after the mouse.... 😟

No, it appears everyone in the Drafter household has their own pet. Drafter had the titmouse.

Good idea. Now where to find the trap.

Btw, last time, before I begrudgingly lopped off his head, I called the county regarding this (and a skunk). They referred me to a contractor who wanted to charge me over 200 bucks for the snake alone.
