Anyone familiar with the disastrous environmental impact of the communist grip on eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union knows what happens when unaccountable totalitarians hold power. If nothing else, the Chernobyl disaster should give one a clue, a legacy Ukrainians will have to endure for decades more, if not centuries. Apparently, though, one does not become the United Nation’s climate chief by collecting such clues. This week, Christiana Figueres offered a prescription for solving global warming — communism!

United Nations climate chief Christiana Figueres said that democracy is a poor political system for fighting global warming. Communist China, she says, is the best model.

Is it because our political system just sits around and talks about it while spending (wasting) trillions of dollars, only to pass more laws, and never to come up with a solution, while the communists just say "if you don't like the way we're doing it...F-U."

Christiana Figueres is obviously ignorant of how the reds just did crap for 50+ years with no thought of the environment. Inefficient, wasteful, dirty industries with not even a whisper of a thought of the water or air down wind/stream or the people working and living around those industries.
How stupid can one person be, even more so in the position she holds.
This shows how teaching for the test instead of really teaching is ruining this nation.

That is one of the most interesting statements ever made here. Even skipping over the "same place we are headed" part, please elaborate. Many here equate fascism with Communism.
