Two patients limp into two different medical offices with the same complaint. Both have painful trouble walking and appear to require hip surgery.

The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, then waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray, which isn't reviewed for another week and finally has his surgery scheduled 7 months away, pending the review boards decision based on his age and remaining value to society.

Why the different treatment for the two patients?

The FIRST is a Golden Retriever taken to a vet.

The SECOND is a Senior Citizen on Obama care...

Gotta agree with wheel. Preferred medical treatment goes to the faithful dog over the senior citizen.

But, that aside... the rest of the joke has nothing to do with obama care. We're going through the same thing with my mother right now, and my father has intentionally continued working so he can keep the higher-end health insurance through his employer. Doesn't matter. The doctors still require you set an appointment to see a specialist before agreeing to do anything. That's at least a month. Then you wait a few weeks for results... THEN you can schedule the next appointment based on the results (can't schedule it early and cancel)... so that's another month. Then they push you to another specialist... etc etc. We've been trying to get my mom a hip replacement for I believe about 8 months now. And this is with non-obamacare, non-medicare, high end corporate insurance plan.
