Growing up on a horse, I was in love with the triple-crown in my youth. Still am, to be honest. I remember just being in awe of Secretariat as a kid. I was just watching the triple-crown races from 1973 on youtube, and the Preakness win was just amazing. From last to first in about in less than a 1/4 mile. Like being shot out of a canon. That horse seemed to just love showing off, starting the race from dead-last, and then sprinting to the finish. Who could ever forget the Belmont Stakes from 1973. What an amazing animal he was !!

Such an amazing horse. For all three triple crown, he still holds the record. For all three races !!

A normal horse's heart is 8 pounds. After autopsy, Secretariat's heart was weighed at 21 pounds !!

That horse loved to run. I'll never forget the 1973 triple crown. The whole country was in love with Secretariat.

I had at one time the winning ticket on Secretariat. Don't know what happened to it. I just lost it during my misguided high school days. What an idiot I was back then. Still gives me chills to think of that race and horse.
