What's up azzhats! I figured it's been a while since I said hey, so I thought I'd give my usual one post per year and say.... Hey!

Hope everyone is doing well. I haven't gone forum digging yet to see what all I've missed but hopefully I'll get around to it.

Let's see, last I remember posting I was going through an ugly divorce and didn't haven't visitation with my kids since my now-ex's rich family hired two high speed attorneys. She wanted 100% custody, half my police retirement, a restraining order (which would have cost me my job), me to assume all of her credit card debt, and an astronomical sum for alimony even though she made $20K more per year than me.

Well.... Custody is 50/50 so I get my kids a week at a time, she gets ZERO percent of my retirement, no restraining order, only a portion of the debt and no alimony. And I was represented pro bono by a local attorney that really likes to help out police officers in sticky situations. So after a two and a half year battle, it all ended well for me and life is great. I celebrated the occasion by flaming my last Liberty 07... Fitting, because I was now "free" so to speak and because it was 5 years old...just like the marriage that was now burned as well! 🇨🇮

I'm still in law enforcement, but with a larger agency with more opportunities for me. Better gear, better pay, better agency....better all around.

I'm also engaged (yeah yeah, I decided to give it another shot... But for those of you that are divorced, you know it's much easier the second time around because you know what you don't want!) to a smoking hot woman who currently is a vet tech but is in school for nursing, and who loves a great whiskey as much as I do.

So all in all, life is good. Still have a slight financial hill to climb, as my once great credit was marred during the divorce...but I can't really complain. I get to be with my kids, I have a great woman now, and I'm healthy and happy.

Here's hoping the rest of you guys are doing well also. 05Busa, if you're still here, stay safe bro! MACS and all the other veterans, I hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend and thanks for your service!

And Steve, if you're still here, I'm off to smoke a Gurkha in your honor!

Sorry to hear, buddy, but sounds like it was for the best.

IF you dive into marriage again remember this: one divorce is bad luck; two divorces is a pattern, and three divorces is evidence... it's you.

Hope everything works out for you, man.

It was definitely for the best. It was my decision to leave. Home life wasn't good, and I was concerned on the impact it would have on the kids. I never thought my kids would grow up in a split household, but I can tell they are happier too. The ugliness of the process came from her side. It was trying on me, but I knew it would work out for the best in the end.

And yeah, if this one doesn't work, I'm done haha. I admit I had some fault with the failed marriage. But it takes two to make it work (and two to ruin it) and the one I'm with now is what I've always wanted. She's had her share of issues also, so we both understand what it takes to make it work. I'm confident that this will be a life long partnership!

Welcome back. South Carolina divorces can be a mess. If one side has a large wallet they can make anyone look like a serial killer when it comes to custody battles, hats off to your attorney.

Hey Gene! Yeah it's tough here, especially if you're a male. There's some legislation in the works right now that would make the default visitation 50/50 unless either parent can prove with good cause that it need to be otherwise. A legion of state reps and senators have realized that there are many decent fathers in this state as well as many poor mothers. The old system of "mom gets the kids, days pays out for child support" is slowly disappearing. I was fortunate to have used this to my advantage. And although it wasn't protocol and policy at the time, the judge had an "a-ha" moment. Here's a working father who loves his kids with no criminal record that does not want to shell out a huge sum of money each month for the privilege of NOT seeing his kids. I kept the kids on my insurance and she is responsible for all the out of pocket medical up to a certain amount, then it's divided after that in a percentage based on our respective incomes (she still makes more).

Good to see you back, fella! Some were wondering if a tree had fallen in your yard and squashed you LOL! Nothing warms my heart like seeing the old "Money is power" adage fail! Good on ya!

Man....what a story and whirlwind life.

Those charges could've made your life unbearable.

You owe that pro bono attorney bigtime.

Personally, I would not get remarried so soon, but that's up to you.

Get a pre-nup on this new one if you have any major assets left or rich relatives to inheirit from in the near future.

Glad to here almost everything is better.

What is the age difference w/ the new fiancee?

Ahahahaha lots of love here. She's a year younger than me. She has loads of life experience...had to grow up fast and on her own due to a childhood tragedy. She's very squared away, very dedicated to me and the kids. And big kudos to the attorney, she was great. I did a lot of my own paperwork and preparations, she just kinda helped guide me and showed up to court when necessary. Couldn't have gotten the turnout I wanted without her.

DC - yes! I still have it! It's survived two moves and still works like a champ.

Cruz- thanks for your service, sorry your ex was a whore though. But glad the second marriage is treating you better, I look forward to the same!

Jade- if I had known you were still here, I would have stayed away bwahaha.

Duwan- I tried to go deep under cover to investigate that ring, but TG was down there too and the **** hit me with a mean Dutch oven. Don't go under cover with TG. Speaking of, is he still around?

Busa- wow...just wow.
