Im getting married this fall and need ideas for the registry. Its kind of a weird concept for me to ask people to give me stuff just because and im having a hard time of coming up with things to add.

What would you guys put on there if you could go back and do yours again, what would you leave off, and what where you glad you put on there?

Put a new vacuum cleaner on there for her. Maybe an iron too.

Diet books so she doesn't get fat on you.

Or maybe a gym membership.

Make sure she wears white.

You want your dishwasher to match your fridge.

My husband did our list and when he was reading it to me (off of amazon) it kinda sounded like this...

kitchen tool I've never heard of, kitchen stuff, more kitchen stuff, lord of the rings sword, kitchen stuff.(My husband does all the cooking.)

Best present we got was cards against humanity.

Great game.

Did he get the sword?

No he didn't get the sword, but he did get a lot of the kitchen stuff that we have no room for.

To be honest. It depends on your living situation. I wanted a lot of outdoor cooking stuff but could not have it at the apartment we were living in at the time, but if you can, throw some of the manly cooking stuff on there like grill tools, grill, smoker, tools you need if you are the handy type. I had a lot of that on ours and some electronics for upgrades and buddies went together and got me a bunch of my stuff off the list.

You are clearly an ametuer- not necessarily a bad thing.

What ever she wants. Let her do it to her satisfaction. It is a lot safer that way.

We already have a house and land, and there isnt much we need to get started so its hard to come up with things. I can think of things I want but dont really feel comfortable asking someone for an expensive item or something that isnt really a necessity but a luxury item that I may buy someday but wouldnt ever ask someone for as a gift.

Sounds to me like you are a good humble soul. Thank your parents for raising you right.

Let the Mrs.-to-be pick the china and colors. Learn how to say "Yes Dear".

Make sure you have enough dishes and utensils for when one of your families visit.. Simple things like sheets and bath towels always work. The registry's are to make things convenient for your guests to congratulate you on your wedding. Try not to think of it as a chore. I am certain your better half will have plenty of ideas. Try to pick things in all price ranges. Sometimes it is okay to ask for something slightly extravagant. We used my brother's registry as a guide to purchase Christmas gifts for them the first year they were married.

We all chipped in for the WSM smoker/grill.You never know.

If there are larger items on your list and you dont get them, some major stores will allow you to come back after the wedding date and purchase remaining items at a discount. I got 20% my gaming console after we got married cause I put it on there as a joke to my wife.
