Would anyone like to trade? I have some aged pepin blacks, undercrown, padrons, Liga privada and some unicos. Depending on the trade I may or may not have a full box of original release LPH Morado from 07.

Thanks,

Rob

Is this the beer that's going for $200 a 12oz bottle for new, and up to 700 each for aged ??

There best be a hooker connected to the bottle for that price!

Pretty sure the KBS is in the $50/12oz range, and the KBBS is in the $200/12oz range in the secondary market. For current releases.

I thought he was asking about the Goose Island "Bourbon County" series of beers?

So I shouldn't of bought a $800 4 pack in anticipation of the trade?

Haven't seen the bottles around here in number of years. Not really my style of beer anyway.

Yes, Goose Island Bourbon County. I didn't think they were that expensive.

Most places sold it for $8 per at release, I could see them being $20per right now for the normal bcs and more for the rarer rye, coffee and barley. Over rated unless seriously aged IMO.

I'd still like to at least try and see what the hype is about.

Ehhhh... I have mixed feelings on aging this beer... generally speaking, I don't feel that non-bottle conditioned beers gain much of anything from aging, typically they just lose their hop profile and become sweet bottles of old shity malt water. This beer, being aged in used bourbon barrels for a year before bottling, does absorb some tannins from the barrels, not as much as a wine or bourbon would being put into fresh oak, still some. Aging a bit gives these time to calm down a bit. Where this beer is interesting is that the unoaked base beer was never meant to be consumed. This beer was designed from the beginning to spend a year in used oak before drinking.

I personally think they are excellent beers, just not anything I will go out of my way to have again.

Ehhhh... not being a bottle conditioned beer, I don't feel that aging it does much of anything except make it old and let the little bit of hops it does have fade.

Aging actually does a lot to beers like this. The strong molasses flavor will fade for sure over time.

yeah - I was a bit rushed for time on my earlier response, I clarified it a bit and you were responding right at that same time.

Anyway, back to the OP's request, I think that anyone who loves beer should try these beers regardless of what you or I think of them.

Yes!

I recently tried the Anderson Valley huge arker imperial stout and I really liked it. I saw it on an article about barrel aged beers to drink instead of Bourbon County.

good luck, your request is some time after the release date. This year's didn't sell as well so you may have some luck. I gifted out 3/4 of what I got this year and only have one left. Also have one from last year.

Honestly it's a really good beer. But, not worth a crazy chase AT ALL. I have a really good relationship with my local specialty beer shpo so Tony texts me when stuffs in stock. For the price of 2 12ozs bottles you can have a bottle of Abyss with less chase that is much better (IMO). LIke the 'Gerb said though certainly a good idea to try if you haven't.
